"With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility"

Steve received exciting news last week -- he was offered a promotion at work, which he accepted! Hooray for Steve and hooray for his new position: Machining Manufacturing Manager.

Although, as Steve often says, per Uncle Ben Parker: "With great power comes great responsibility". Now Steve is managing the entire maching operation at his plant which includes leading ~120 people. Most of those folks are members of a strong union workforce.
This leadership role is in addition to his grad school work and of course being a super-hero (er, Daddy) to two young kids. And a knight in shining armour to his damsel in distress (umm, I mean, WIFE!).
But if you know Steve -- and of course I do -- you know he will thrive in this new role. His direct reports have always loved working for him and he has all the smart ideas to keep quality parts flowing to the customers. The biggest of which is Boeing, creators of the Chinook CH 47 Helicopter, pictured above.

Here's an interview with our favorite new Manufacturing Manager:

Me: What do you like best about your new job?

Steve: "The opportunity to make positive contribution to the overall success of the facility".
Me: What time do you wake up each day?
Steve: "3:30am or 4am". (no, he's not joking, folks)
Me: What do you each for lunch?

Steve:
"Sandwich. Or granola bar. Or sometimes I eat lunch after I get home".
Me: Tell me 3 words to describe your new boss?
Steve: Intense. Analytical. Driven. (you can see why this guy likes Steve!)

It's clear that Steve will continue to excel at juggling work life and school life and family life, just like usual. With maybe a few less zzzs. But as we say in our house "Sleep is over-rated!!" Anyway, congratulations to Steve and HOORAY for more good news at our house!
