Fun with Tita Leah and Uncle Kris

During Kris and Leah's visit, we spent lots of quality time with the kids at our house as well as during a few field trips to local Naperville toddler hangouts. "Tita" is the Fillipino word for "Aunt".

Kris and Leah are such naturals with the kids. You would never guess they were both the youngest in their families. Elliott started off calling Kris the "big kid" because Kris came up with such fun ways to play with Elliott.

We took the kids to the local Children's Museum, which turned out to be chock-full of interactive toys. Highlights included the wind tunnel and instrument room. The kids loved playing with the water works exhibit and in the art room with the black lights. We bought a family membership; we are sure to return many times throughout the long winter months. Now that Rosemary is down to one nap it is easier for us to take longer outings.

Someday, Rosemary should have some HAIR to blow in the wind!

Since we don't have cable TV, it can get pretty boring sticking around our house. We suggested bowling so that the adults could have some fun alongside the kids. Rosemary had a hard time at the bowling alley because she wanted to run everywhere... yet it wasn't exactly safe with the slippery floor and heavy balls. We took turns trying to keep her happy while still squeezing in a game.

Elliott showed off the bowling skills he learned a few weeks ago at a bowling birthday party for one of our neighbors. Unfortunately the racks at this bowling alley were a few inches taller so Elliott had to practically raise the ball over his shoulders in order to bowl. Not easy when the ball is 20% of your body weight!

Yes, we are sitting on the coat rack shelf... watching the action (notice our lovely bowling shoes!)

We loved having Uncle Kris and Tita Leah visit! The weekend really flew by, culminating in Rosemary's baptism. We are all looking forward to future visit!
