Birthday Girls

Last weekend, we celebrated Rosemary's 2nd birthday and Alina's 32nd birthday. Although officially 2 days apart, we tend to celebrate birthdays over the course of a couple of weeks so we combined celebrations!

To honor the birthday girls, Steve dreamed up a fun cake. He used fondant atop a red velvet cake to create a candy "bowl". Then he then baked & rolled cake balls to represent truffles inside the bowl. Alina and Rosemary loved the cake, especially the delicious cake balls which were dipped in white chocolate and milk chocolate.

Elliott kept his cool for about the first half of Rosemary's gift-opening but then he started to lose it. He was not willing to pose for any photos! When you are 3.5, it's not easy to watch your sister open gifts. He asked quite a few times throughout the week when October would be coming and if October was after April... sorry, son, another six months of waiting!
Rosemary adored her cake!

Rosemary also celebrated her birthday during our visit to California (to be covered in next post) and at daycare.
