"Where a Kid Can be a Kid"

Nana visited us this past weekend. More on that later...

This update showcases Elliott's first trip to a childhood mecca: Chuck E. Cheese. We have become friendly with one of the other families using our current daycare. Elliott loves their son Danny, who is about 1.5 years older. Danny is now at kindergarden and only attends daycare on the days there is no school. (Who knew there were so many school holidays / in-service days?? Not so convenient for the dual-income family!)

Anyway, when Danny's Mom invited Elliott to join their family on a trip to Chuck E Cheese, there is no way we could say "no" . We told Elliott about the outing the day before. After that, he could barely talk about anything else -- even though we are pretty sure he only had a glimmer of an idea on what Chuck E Cheese actually is.

Danny's mom emailed Alina a few cell phone photos. Here's Elliott walking in between Danny (on the right) and Danny's little brother Brandon, also a daycare attendee.
Looking at this picture, we can imagine his excitement as he walks up to the door! He doesn't know exactly what's in store... he knows "there's a big mouse" and "pizza" (At least that's what he told us before he left our house, when pressed for info on his knowledge of the place... Ha ha!)
Once home, Elliott told us all about the rides, games and tokens. Danny's Mom told us that Elliott used his tickets to select two bracelets for Rosemary (his own idea!) along with a little rubber spider and two other plastic figurines. What a nice brother!

Here's Elliott posing with the big mouse. He told Rosemary all about the mouse and informed her that "she would be scared". He told us repeatedly that he was not scared... the picture tells a slightly different story.... it's amazing to see our little guy all grown up and standing next to that mouse. To us, it seems like just yesterday he was screaming like crazy at the mere sight of Santa Claus.

Elliott was so proud and so happy to attend his first big outing with a friend!
