Elliott Lost First Tooth

Our six-year-old Elliott lost his first tooth. The tooth had been loose for a couple of weeks, slowly becoming more and more wiggly with each passing day. After bedtime, Elliott came downstairs since his tooth was bothering him a little.... he pushed the loose tooth outward, bending perpendicular to the gumline. Alina was a little squeamish but luckily Alina's friend Valerie was visiting: she helped Elliott with a little twisting and out came the tooth with no pain or tears.

Steve was out-of-town on business so Elliott called to share the good news.

Alina shared a few stories with Elliott, describing how his first 2 bottom teeth broke through his baby gums when Elliott was only 12 weeks old.  Baby teeth were a wonderful milestone, even if Elliott found teething to be painful and full of drooling. Now, the day has come for another great milestone: losing his first baby tooth.  Sniff sniff, our son is growing up!

After a few more happy poses with the tooth, Elliott and Alina set the tooth out in a small yellow bowl on his dresser for the Tooth Fairy.

The Tooth Fairy thought Elliott might like to keep both his tooth and the dollar. So, the Tooth Fairy left the dollar AND the tooth. This caused much consternation and concern so Elliott left his tooth out a second night for the Tooth Fairy. Thankfully, the Tooth Fairy returned, properly collecting the tooth (without leaving another dollar).
