Auntie Em and Uncle B

Alina took the kids on a last minute trip to Ohio over the weekend. Auntie Em and Tom were driving up from South Carolina. Steve couldn't take off from work. Nana was thrilled at the last minute decision and was a great hostess.

Elliott and Rosemary both enjoyed the weekend jaunt to Ohio! They behaved beautifully on the plane and in the airport. As we watched the planes taking off and landing Elliott said "Mommy, I want to drive the plane"! When he noticed the Continental Airlines planes, he called them "Spider-Man Planes" due to the web-like logo. Kudos to the flight attendant on our return flight who gave us one pack of wheat crackers, 3 packs of animal crackers and one bag of pretzels. Plenty to keep the kids happy.

Nana has come to Chicago to visit a few times here and there... but few opportunites have been available for Auntie Em and Uncle B to visit with the kids. Therefore, this weekend was a very special opportunity for both of them to play with the kids and have a taste of what it's like to be care for a young toddler!

Rosemary's favorite experience for the weekend was following around Mona. Rosemary adores dogs. Her whole body shakes with excitement when she sees a dog... she starts squaking, giggling with excitement and pointing with BOTH hands. Rosemary is usually pretty gentle, either petting the dog's soft fur, touching with 'one finger' or leaning down to give the dog a hug. Mona was not as thrilled with Rosemary's attentions.... will we be getting a dog anytime soon? No. Two kids age 2 and under are enough!

It was also lovely to see Uncle Joel, Aunt Lynne, Uncle Dale. They all enjoyed seeing the kids at a lakeside BBQ, hosted by Uncle Joel. And of course spend time with the childless lovebirds pictured below... ha ha....!!
