Snip Snip Snip

This past Sunday, we took Rosemary for her first haircut at age 2.5 years old. When we arrived at the salon, the three ladies cutting hair immediately swarmed on our family and were very excited to hear we were there to celebrate this milestone!

We started off with Steve and Elliott getting their hair cut side-by-side while Rosemary watched. This might not have been the best idea because the short hair cuts involve the buzzing of the clipper. Rosemary does not like loud noises.

However, Rosemary is usually up to try whatever Elliott is doing! At first she balked and didn't want to wear the cape or even get close to the chair. Steve sat down so she could sit in his lap. Alina retrieved her purple stuffed dog, Violet, from the car so she could hold something under the cape.

And then the snipping began!

Rosemary remained very solemn through most of the cut. the stylist complimented Rosemary's silky-soft hair. Rosemary's hair color is very unique -- a shimmery almost-blond color in the sun changing to a muted light brown in regular light.

Today's stylists are very patient. They move as the child moves and do not ask the child to sit still. Rosemary warmed up a little bit at the end and smiled a bit! As a keepsake, we captured a few of her locks in a Baby's First Haircut envelope.
