Family Visit Part 1

Last weekend, Nana, Uncle Brenton, Auntie Em and Uncle Joel all came to visit our house. No special occasion... this seemed to be a good time everyone could take off from work. Besides hanging out at our house, we all went on a few fun outings, too. Although it's fun to have happy kids who take their naps it's also fun to go out and do things. We are lucky to have many many many kid-friendly places to go, many of which aren't too expensive!

Last Friday, after spending the morning at JC Penny taking a family portrait and doing some shopping, we took the kids to a small waterpark in the town next door. This waterpark is part of the park district so it's open to everyone. The park has innertube slides, lazy river, kid-splash-pad and a zero-depth pool. That's just the outdoor section! Indoors, there is a lap pool and another zero-depth pool with two slides. By showing up in the evening, we were able to pay half-price AND receive a coupon for a free piece of pizza and a drink. Elliott ran around so much that it was nearly impossible to snap any good photos!

The kids are really starting to warm up to being in big swimming pools. Maybe sometime soon we will sign up for lessons. The water at this water park was warmer than the water at the other water park we visited earlier this summer so that helped keep the kids happy!

The bottoms of Rosemary's bathing suit are soooo adorable. We just can't get enough of these ruffles!

Rosemary enjoyed being held in the deep water, too. Alina held her lightly under the arm pits... then Rosemary would lean back and kick her legs and feet, splashing her toes in the water, just like Auntie Em. Next time we'll have to try and get some video.
