Family Visit Part 2

Last Saturday, while our family was visiting from out of town, we returned to the "free zoo" as one of our outings. With six adults and two kids, we did out best to think of fun activities which didn't cost too much money to keep everyone entertained throughout the weekend. We took Steve's parents to the same place during their visit in June.

Elliott LOVES going to the zoo. Even though the weather was cool and rainy (you would never guess it was August!), Elliott had a great time looking at each animal. The zoo was half-empty so he had an unobstructed view of each animal habitat. The cool and wet weather sparked lots of activity in the animals. We saw cows, pigs, llamas a grand canyon burro, a coyote, deer plus many various reptiles and birds. Rosemary's favorites appear to be the bunnies and the turtles. Elliott's favorites are the "sheeps in the barn".

Here is Auntie Em with the kids. At least they are both looking at the camera!

Other activites during the weekend included breakfast at the diner located next to the airstrip of our community airport. Steve had Elliott up on his shoulders so he could see all the planes taking off and landing. We even saw a helicopter, which is always very exciting due to the spinning rotors and the loud noise!

In this photo, the plane is visible. Most of the planes at this airport are general aviation recreational planes.

Auntie Em and Uncle B took Elliott to the "jumpy place" where Elliott joyfully bounced on all of the air castles and slides. Before long Rosemary will be bouncing, too. She is already bending her knees and almost getting off the ground when she tries to jump!

Uncle Joel and Nana brought a truckload of items for our house, including a bunch of beautiful perennials. Steve and Alina were able to plant everything and lay down more mulch by the time the weekend was over. (Will the yard work ever end???)

Here is a cute picture of Elliott and Nana. We think they look alike! Elliott appears to have the Toth genes! Notice the smile and the cheekbones. Elliott also has the same dimple, too. Emily, Brent, Nana and Elliott all look pretty similar. Here is a link to a photo which also shows the similarity. http://withmirthandlaughter.blogspot.com/2009/08/wordless-wednesday.html
