Minivans = Overrated

Around a year ago, we discovered a very slender car seat which folds flat for storage. And can sit rear-facing until a child is 40 lbs. We bought one which Rosemary has been using since she grew out of the infant carrier. Fast forward to now... we're expecting our third child and debating the minivan question. Alina has no problem owning and driving a minivan. In fact, we know a minivan will give us more space.

However... we also want to make good financial decisions. So why buy a minivan when you can spend a lot less money on two more car seats that will seat three-across in the back of a '98 Honda Civic? Conclusion: minivans = overrated. There is no doubt the fit is tight but the kids spend literally 10 min per day buckled in this vehicle: 5 min in the morning before Alina drops them off at daycare and 5 min in the evening.

Above, the kids are posing in the garage without being buckled. Elliott asked "Who's that seat for?" pointing at the empty seat. Our new baby! Alina patted her stomach and the light bulb went off again... "Oh....." replies Elliott. Ah, the miracle of life!
