Our Artists-in-Residence

The kids bring home at least one "project" per day from daycare. These range from complex assemblies of googly eyes, fuzzy balls, glitter and pipe cleaners to simple construction paper with marker drawings.

So far, neither child seems to be a budding Van Gogh, but we still enjoy seeing their creations! We rotate particularly special masterpieces on the fridge. Lately, Elliott has taken to coloring the entire page. And aiming more for the lines.

Another favorite image is his version of a spider, complete with many legs.

A couple of months ago, Elliott started drawing faces with eyes and a smile. Here is one of Alina's favorite early versions, with his attempt at his name on the left and the face on the right.

When asked who is in this drawing below, Elliott exclaimed "THAT'S ME!"

Rosemary's projects are a little on the light side -- she still sticks crayons or markers in her mouth. At our house, she is highly supervised with writing utensils! Sometimes she comes home from daycare covered in marker... ha ha.... luckily pretty much every marker targets for kids is washable. We look forward to her future artistic renderings.
