The Bee

If you've been around a baby lately then you'll know the pure joy you feel when you hear a baby's laugh! And if you'd like a laugh out of Rosemary these days... help her climb on the Bee and take her for a spin up and down the hallway!

We have a yellow plastic ride-on bee, inherited from when Alina and her sister were toddlers. Although this bee is 20+ years old, it's a great ride-on toy. Easy to steer and F-A-S-T. Elliott has spent lots of time riding in circles in our house during the winter or circling the block last summer.
Finally, after almost 12 months of watching Elliott... Rosemary turn has arrived! When Elliott's asleep or not around, she makes a beeline for the bee. She pulls up on the bee's round yellow body, grips the steering wheel while throwing eloquent looks over her shoulder at Mommy. Those looks say "Hey! C'mon over here! Help me up on this thing!" Once she's seated that's when the smiles start! Once she starts rolling that's when the giggles start!

We've already wondered if we will need to do a nationwide hunt for a 2nd bee once she's a bit bigger, just to avoid arguments over who can ride the bee. (Let us know if you see one anywhere: garage sales? eBay? antique stores?) Meanwhile we enjoy those precious baby giggles.

You could always get a Wheely Bug, although I doubt it would be as fast and versatile since it has small wheels. They're very popular and widely available, though.
