Not bad for a tripod photo, eh?
From the left: Steve, Elliott (age 2.5), Alina, Rosemary (age 12 months).
Our Easter started off with Alina and Rosemary sleeping in until almost 9:30am since Rosemary has been sick with a cold and the two of them had been up most of the night. Steve miraculously kept Elliott in the kitchen for over two hours, away from where the baskets were staged in the dining room.
After Alina grabbed the camera and video camera, the kids were allowed to wander into the room. This is the first Easter that Elliott really understood the concept of "presents" and "candy". Surprise! One basket for each child! We kept things simple with a little bit of candy, a few cars, a couple of puzzles and really neat-looking whistle that blows bubbles.
Later in the day, we dressed up and enjoyed a lovely brunch. It was a peaceful day! Steve and Alina shared stories of their own Easter Sundays throughout their childhoods. Marriage is fun because we can pick and choose what we like from our pasts and also incorporate new traditions.
