Three Kids on the Couch

About a month ago, Gretchen started sitting up on her own. Finally, she could see the world on her own terms! Sometimes she still tips over and loses her balance but those instances are becoming less and less frequent. None of these pictures are the best (camera phone plus moving kids...). But they all tell a little something different about the kids. At the start of this photo session, Gretchen was clearly beside herself with pleasure at sitting up on the couch next to the big kids. She has quite the personality. Anytimes she catches your eye, she is smiling. First photo: here's Elliott who has always had a thing with his tongue when he smiles. Gretchen's grabbing her toes (her favorite toy) and Rosemary is chewing on her fingers. She does that when she is asked to smile.

Rosemary is the highlight in this next shot - she put her fingers down and busted out her "camera" smile!

Alina suggested Rosemary put her arm around Elliott. Rosemary adores her brother and often tries to get close to him. The TV was switched on at this point so Elliott is looking beyond the camera to try and see the TV. Now Rosemary is noticing the TV.... Gretchen loves when the older kids touch her or do anything near her. Elliott shows protective instincts toward Gretchen and reached out to grab her hand after she wobbled a little bit.
