Fall Soccer x2

Elliott and Rosemary are 18 months apart and are 1 year apart in school.  This is our first Fall with both playing soccer.

Soccer sign-up is a frenzy; registration opens at 12pm five months before the season... all the parents log on at 12:01pm, crash the web site. All the parents except Alina and Steve who didn't remember until 8pm that evening that it was soccer sign-up day. DOH!

We were able to enroll Rosemary in a pre-K team but had to put Elliott on the wait list with our fingers crossed. Alina craftily called the registration desk to find out which team had the smalled wait list. And... Elliott made it on the team.  Whew, crisis averted. Mental note: do not ever forget soccer sign-up day again. Tattoo on forehead.

Elliott continues to put his quickness and agility together on the soccer field, scoring goals, passing to teammates, and having a grand time. He is not the biggest or tallest kid on the field but he's one of the fastest. Plus, he really understands the game and listens to the coach.

Rosemary's first soccer season was adorable - all those 4 year old girls with their pink soccer socks, ponytails, and pink soccer balls. It's amazing how colorful the girls are in their soccer attire. Rosemary was fairly hesitant on the field but she loved being part of the team, charmed the coach and other girls with her stories and bright smile.  She's fast and coordinated, we'll see if she blossoms a little more on the field during the speed of the game.
