Uncle Joel's Visit

Uncle Joel retired after many long years of working. So, he was able to visit us for a week, which turned out to be a wonderful week that went by too fast.  Uncle Joel is a.k.a. "Gruncle Joel" since he is technically great uncle to the kids!

We spent great times together, enjoying warm indian summer days, playing with the kids, eating yummy foods. He was also a great help to us: he painted the downstairs bathroom a pretty yellow and.... championed taking down the deck.

Taking down the deck was a huge project. But, it needed to go, to make room for the patio. While Alina and Steve worked, Uncle Joel removed all the wood. Then, on the weekend Steve joined the fun; Elliott helped as much as he could.

Rosemary supervised! Gotta love her set up here, with her juice and her favorite green blankie.

Gretchen couldn't get enough of him.

Uncle Joel spent fun times with the kids, reading books, listening to their stories, playing in the yard, going on bike rides to the park. All three of the kids bonded with him and really had a blast.

See you again soon, Uncle Joel!
