Rosemary = FOUR

How did Rosemary grow up so quickly? Just yesterday, she was a snugly newborn. Always our best sleeper and our best eater, she's brought us excitement and sweetness and fashion and stubbornness all rolled in one.

Alina and Steve put the finishing touches on Rosemary's personal gluten-free and dairy-free cake.

Her party has a "Flower" theme.

 We started off the party with cupcakes and cake. All the guests are our close neighbors or very close friends. We tried to keep things a little smaller, which turned out to be perfect.

After the cake and cupcakes, we moved to the playroom for some duck-duck-goose and hot-potato. Oldies but goodies, especially for the age 4-8 crowd.

After that, we moved to the backyard for flower potting and seed planting. Alina picked up shovels from the dollar bins, small flowerpots, potting soil, and marigolds.We cut up egg cartons to hold the soil and seeds.

All the kids and parents jumped right in. Everyone seemed to really enjoy getting their hands dirty and putting together the pretty flowerpots.

After the flower potting, all the kids played on the swing set and in the yard.

We snapped a group shot with most of the guests! Lesson learned from Elliott's party when we forgot.

Later, Rosemary dug in to her gifts. Oh, the excitement! The awe! The anticipation!

 Gretchen tried to help but we rebuffed. The sharing will come later, surely... hopefully....

Happy Birthday Rosemary!
